Rare Ovoid Stoneware Jug with Impressed Heart Motif, attributed to the Morgan / Van Wickle Pottery, Old Bridge, NJ, early 19th century, approximately two-gallon, ovoid jug with heavily-tooled neck, rounded spout, and footed base, the shoulder decorated with an impressed and cobalt-highlighted design of four hearts surrounded by a scallop-edged border. Attribution is based on sherd evidence excavated from the Morgan / Van Wickle site in Old Bridge, NJ. Provenance: A Bird-in-Hand Antiques. Very nice condition with chipping to base, an iron ping at base, and a small, glazed-over iron ping to handle.
