Two-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jar, Greensboro, PA origin, circa 1860, semi-ovoid jar with incised banding at midsection, tooled shoulder, and semi-rounded rim, decorated with an ornately-brushed cobalt "2" surrounded on three sides by wavy lines. Recessed spot to shoulder. Some in-the-firing dryness to surface on left side and reverse. A 1 3/8" shallow chip to interior of rim. A 1 3/8" sliver of in-the-firing clay residue on top of rim.
