Boughner," Greensboro, PA origin, circa 1865, cylindrical jar with incised band near midsection, tooled shoulder, and semi-rounded rim, lavishly-decorated with a freehand vining, horizontal stripes at shoulder, midsection, and base, and vertical vertical stripes flanking a script "2" with graduated stripes above and below. Midsection with very rare stenciled signature "A.V. Boughner". A visually-stunning example from one of Greensboro's rarest and most highly-regarded potteries.
