Two-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Churn, Stamped "SWAN & STATES / STONINGTON, CT," circa 1825, cylindrical churn with heavily-tooled shoulder, short flaring collar, and applied lug handles, decorated with brushed cobalt highlights to the maker's mark and handle terminals. Includes wooden lid and dasher. 1" base chip. Other smaller base chip. An in-the-firing 5/8" stone ping to shoulder on reverse.
