Four-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Floral Decoration, attributed to R.J. Grier, Chester County, PA, circa 1880, cylindrical jar with tooled shoulder, squared rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with a large double-blossomed floral design on the front and back. Brushed scalloped cobalt line under each handle. Excellent, essentially as-made condition with a salt drip extending down from rim to left of one handle.
