Two-Gallon Stoneware Pitcher with Floral Decoration, attributed to R.J. Grier, Chester County, PA, circa 1880, ovoid-bodied pitcher with stepped foot and tooled collar with semi-squared rim molding, the front decorated with a double-stemmed plant featuring two hanging blossoms. Additional swag decoration to the shoulder. Collar decorated on each side with leafy brushwork and along the spout with dashes. A minor, glazed-over rim nick. A restored V-shaped crack extending from the far right side of spout partway around collar, possibly a restoration of a reglued wedge. Otherwise excellent condition.
