Three-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Elaborate Cobalt Floral Decoration, Baltimore, MD origin, circa 1850, ovoid jar with squared rim and ribbed lug handles, heavily-decorated on the front and back with a stem bearing large fan-shaped flowers and leaves. Excellent decoration and color. 11" vertical hairline on right edge of decoration. Chip to one handle. In-the-firing iron ping with iron residue below rim on one side. Some short, minor surface lines on interior, not visible on exterior.
