Large-Sized Redware Jar with Open Handles, Pennsylvania origin, 19th century, ovoid jar with tooled shoulder, rounded rim, and applied strap handles, the interior covered in a lead-and-manganese glaze. Underside incised "40". 2 1/4" hairline from rim. Minor rim chip. Long inverted 8 1/2" Y-shaped line extending up from base. H 11 1/2".
