Rare One-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Swag Decoration, Stamped "W.H. CRISMAN / STRASBURG, VA," circa 1883-1885, cylindrical jar with tooled shoulder and semi-squared rim, decorated around the shoulder with a series of brushed cobalt swags. Numerous tiny bubble-like protrusions on one side of jar, a flaw that occurred during the firing. Three rim chips, two of which are quite small. A few shallow base chips.
