Rare Multi-Glazed Redware Mug, Strasburg, VA origin, late 19th century, large-sized, cylindrical mug with applied handle, the surface decorated with splashed green and brown glazes over an orange ground with traces of cream at base. The large size and cylindrical form of this mug are unusual for Strasburg redware production. Very nice condition. A small rim chip with inverted 2" Y-shaped surface line descending from it, visible on interior only. Two shallow kiln furniture marks on top of rim. Tiny nick to bottom edge. H 4 1/2" ; Diameter (across top) 4 1/8".
