Scarce Shenandoah Valley Redware Jar, Stamped "BAECHER / WINCHESTER VA," circa 1885, small-sized, ovoid jar with tooled shoulder, squared rim, and lead-and-manganese-glazed interior. Drips of glaze to shoulder area. Underside deeply impressed with Anthony Bacher maker's mark. Rim with a small chip, a few nicks, and wear. Some glaze flakes to interior base. H 4 3/4" ; Diameter (across top) 5 7/8".
