Scarce One-and-a-Half-Gallon Stoneware Milkpan, attributed to David Parr, Jr., Richmond, VA, third quarter 19th century, wide, tapered pan with squared spout, applied tab handles, and large pouring spout. Front decorated with freehand swags flanking the spout as well as smaller swags directly below the spout. Reverse with unusual design of large swags interspersed with smaller inverted swags. Crack from rim, which forms a Y on underside and extends 1 3/4" as a hairline up opposite side of milkpan. Two minor nicks to top of rim. 1 1/4" reglued flake to end of one handle. Tiny nick to opposite handle.
