Two-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "N. CLARK & CO / ROCHESTER NY," circa 1845, cylindrical jar with tooled shoulder, flared rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with a finely slip-trailed design of a daisy with heavily-shaded leaves and petal tips. Two contact marks to front of jar. 6 1/2" inverted fork-shaped line from rim on side of jar. Several nicks on interior of rim where a lid would rest. A 1 3/4" area of shallow, in-the-firing chipping to edge of underside.
