Two-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "N. CLARK & CO. / ROCHESTER, N.Y.," circa 1845, cylindrical jar with toled shoulder, flared rim, and large lug handles, decorated with a slip-trailed design of sunflower featuring heavily-shaded leaves and a dashed center. Fry to cobalt. Thin spidering crack extending from left side of jar's front around to left side of jar. Several rim chips. One handle with thin 1 1/2" crack and small chip. Small stone ping on reverse. 2" line at bottom edge. Some light staining.
