Very Rare Sculptural Stoneware Boundary Marker, Finely Incised "Kirkpatrick / 1885," Wallace and Cornwall Kirkpatrick, Anna, IL, large-sized boundary marker with footed base and nicely-tooled shoulder surmounted by a ball-shaped finial. Midsection incised in very fine, distinctive Anna-style penmanship, with the name and date "KirkPatrick / 1885". Incised circles flanking the name "KirkPatrick," along with additional incised circles accenting the ends of the lettering. A highly unusual and sculptural piece, the only of its kind we are aware of. Heavy flaking and chipping to reverse, extending partway around sides of marker. Chip to underside. H 14".
