Rare Early Miniature Redware Jug, New England origin, late 18th or early 19th century, ovoid-bodied jug with unusually-tall, flaring neck, and applied strap handle. Exterior covered in a metallic black "gunmetal" glaze composed of lead and manganese. Excellent form and size. Shallow chipping to base. Light wear to spout. H 5 1/2".
