Scarce One-and-a-Half-Gallon Stoneware Crock with Elaborate Reppert Stenciling, Greensboro, PA origin, circa 1880, short, cylindrical crock with tooled shoulder and semi-rounded rim, featuring the elaborate stenciled maker's mark "T.F. REPPERT SUCCESSOR TO / JAS. HAMILTON & CO. / MANUF'S. / GREENSBORO, PA." Stenciled diagonal "1 1/2" flanked by leaves to left of maker's stenciling. Scarce form with desirable stenciling. Smooth base chip, probably in-the-firing. Staining to reverse. Some light wear to stenciling. Tight line extending across underside.
