Glazed Redware Jar with Lid, American, Pennsylvania or New England origin, 19th century, cylindrical jar with unusual inwardly-tapering base with rounded foot, the surface decorated with drips of manganese over a mottled olive and orange ground. Includes lead-glazed redware lid, probably not original to the jar. Wear to rim, primarily on interior. Light wear to shoulder. Short glazed-over horizontal separation at base. Lid in excellent condition. H (including lid) 8 1/4".
