Fine Glazed Redware Jar with Lid, American, 19th century, skillfully-potted, thin-walled jar of ovoid form with rounded foot and dramatically-flared rim. Shoulder decorated with an incised wavy line flanked by straight lines. Surface covered in a lead glaze over a colorful, mottled rust, olive, and orange ground. Lead-glazed lid with stepped finial and similar incising. A very decorative example in form and glaze. Jar in excellent condition. Some small chips to edge of lid. H (including lid) 6".
