Large-Sized Redware Jar with Manganese Tulip Decoration, Stamped "JOHN BELL / WAYNESBORO," circa 1860, approximately three-gallon, ovoid jar with incised banding around the shoulder, decorated with five Bell-style tulips in brushed manganese. Impressed below rim with John Bell maker's mark. Lead-and-manganese-glazed interior. Sealed cracks from rim, a few of which have been colored. Base chip and small base nick. Flaking to interior base.
