Scarce Large-Sized Redware Jar with Manganese Tulip Decoration, Stamped "JOHN W. BELL / Waynesboro, Pa.," circa 1875, approximately three-gallon ovoid jar with heavily-tooled shoulder and semi-squared rim, decorated around the shoulder with a series of large Bell-style tulips applied in a rust-colored lead and manganese glaze. Similar glaze on interior. Incised "30" on underside. 6" crack from rim on front with small nick out of base of rim. 1 1/8" flake to rim, and a few other minor rim nicks. H 11 1/2".
