Six-Gallon Alkaline-Glazed Stoneware Churn, Southern U.S., late 19th century, semi-ovoid churn with flared rim, applied strap handle, and applied lug handle, the surface covered in a streaky dark brownish glaze. Incised "6" under one handle. Excellent, essentially as-made condition, with some in-the-firing wrinkles on underside, which do not extend through to interior.
