Two Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jars, Baltimore and Philadelphia origin, circa 1830, a two-gallon Baltimore stoneware jar with elaborate cobalt tulip decoration, squared rim, and applied tab handles; paired with a one-gallon highly ovoid jar with applied lug handles and squared rim, decorated with brushed cobalt tulips around the shoulder, Philadelphia origin. Baltimore jar with cracks and loss to handle. Philadelphia jar with several cracks emanating from underside, and including a triangular piece missing near midsection along crack. H (of Philadelphia jar) 9 1/2".
