Two-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Foliate Decoration, Northeastern U.S. origin, possibly NJ, circa 1830, ovoid jug with tooled spout, decorated with a brushed design of crossed leafy branches flanking the number 2 in cobalt. Essentially as-made condition with a stone ping to midsection, a small glazed-over chip to interior of spout, other light wear to interior of spout, a glazed-over chip to handle, and a small inverted U-shaped line to spout.
