Two-Gallon Stoneware Crock with Cobalt Chicken Pecking Corn Decoration, NY State origin, circa 1875, cylindrical crock with tooled shoulder, semi-rounded rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with a large cobalt chicken (or possibly a rooster, given the long tail) pecking kernels of corn from the ground. Inverted Y-shaped hairline along with another hairline from rim on front. Top-to-bottom hairline on reverse. A few minor rim chips.
