Four-Gallon Stoneware Crock with Cobalt Chicken Pecking Corn Decoration, Stamped "RIEDINGER & CAIRE / POUGHKEEPSIE," NY State origin, circa 1860, cylindrical crock with tooled shoulder, semi-rounded rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with a large slip-trailed design of a chicken pecking kernels of corn from a heavily-detailed lawn flanked by shrubs. Exfoliation to surface. 8 1/2" crack on right side of crock's front. Hairline to one handle terminal.
