Two Pieces of Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware, New York State origin, second half 19th century, a four-quart batter pail with cobalt highlights to spout and ears, stamped "N. WHITE & CO. BINGHAMTON"; paired with a large, coggle-decorated spittoon with cobalt bands, probably Whites Pottery, Utica, NY. Batter pail with hairlines, a base chip, a 2" in-the-firing line from rim. Spittoon with large chip at edge on underside and hairlines in underside. D (spittoon) 11".
