Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Spittoon, attributed to the Remmey Pottery, Philadelphia, PA, circa 1865, with coved sides, rounded foot, circular opening on top surface, and carved oval slot at shoulder, decorated around the body with brushed cobalt leaves, as well as brushwork around and below the opening. 1 1/4" base flake. Chip to opening on top surface with hairlines extending from it. H 4 1/4" ; Diameter 8 1/4".
