Five-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Tulip Decoration, attributed to G. & A. Black, Somerville, PA, circa 1860, ovoid jar with tooled shoulder, flattened rim, and applied lug handles, decorated on the front and back with three large tulips extending from a leafy stem. Impressed "5" on one side. Excellent condition with three small chips on interior of rim, a contact mark to midsection of one side, and a tiny nick to shoulder molding.
