Rare Stoneware Jar with Coggled Decoration, Stamped "TW JL," Thomas Warne and Joshua Letts, South Amboy, NJ, early 19th century, cylindrical jar with rounded shoulder and flared rim, decorated with an unusual coggled and manganese-highlighted design of connected diamonds and ovals. Shoulder additionally decorated with two rows of a coggled column motif with sawtoothed edge. Unusual decoration, good form, and exceptional condition. Provenance: A fresh-to-the-market example, consigned from Virginia. Excellent condition with only a small base chip. H 12 1/4".
