Scarce Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jar with Vertical Handles, NJ origin, late 18th or early 19th century, ovoid jar with heavily-tooled shoulder and applied vertical handles, decorated with a large cobalt circle on one side and a large daub of cobalt on the reverse. Handle terminals decorated with cobalt circles. Chips on interior of rim. 5" crack from rim. X-shaped hairline extending from base on one side, and 1 1/2" onto underside. H 7 1/4".
