Handled Stoneware Canning Jar with Cobalt Stenciling, Cincinnati, OH origin, late 19th century, cylindrical jar with rounded shoulder, wax sealer rim, and applied handle, featuring the stenciled cobalt signature "JAS. BENJAMIN & SON / WHOLESALE / STONEWARE / DEPOT / CINCINNATI, O." Two contact marks to surface. 7" hairlines extending up from base on front. A few small chips to inner canning jar rim. Light wear to base of handle. H 10 3/4".
