Glazed Redware Spittoon, Pennsylvania origin, mid to late 19th century, with rounded foot, tooled shoulder, recessed opening on top surface, and carved semi-circular opening on side. Surface decorated with sponged manganese and covered in a clear lead glaze. Heavy wear to tip edge. Several base chips. Some wear to opening at shoulder. Some other light surface wear. H 4" ; D 8 1/2".
