Four-Gallon Stoneware Crock with Bird Decoration, Stamped "NEW YORK / STONEWARE CO / FORT EDWARD, N.Y.," circa 1875, cylindrical crock with applied lug handles and semi-rounded rim, decorated with a brushed and slip-trailed design of a plump bird perched on a leaf. Provenance: Skinner Auctions, Rogers Collection. Some fry to base of leaf. 10" faint hairline on front. Some very faint lines on side of crock. H 11 1/2".
