Open-Handled Stoneware Jar with Incised Floral Decoration, NY origin, possibly Manhattan, circa 1810, ovoid jar with tooled collar and open loop handles, decorated on the front and back with a finely-incised and cobalt-highlighted daisy. Exceptionally strong cobalt against a light gray clay ground. Very long inverted Y-shaped crack extending downward from rim and partway around body of jar. Short hairline from rim above one handle. H 14".
