Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Cake Crock with Lid, Stamped "R.C.R. / PHILA," Philadelphia, PA, circa 1875, cylindrical crock with tooled shoulder and ribbed lug handles, decorated on the front and back with large brushed-cobalt leaves. Includes original swag-decorated lid. Heavy chipping to knob of lid. Chips to flange on underside. Crock with significant restoration to cracks, touching some of the decoration. Additional damage to crock includes some short hairlines, fry to cobalt, two large salt drips, and a small rim chip. H (including lid) 7 1/8" ; Diameter 10 1/2".
