Glazed Redware Jar, New England origin, circa 1840, ovoid jar with flared rim, rounded foot, and applied lug handles, decorated with a dark brown lead and manganese glaze on the exterior, the interior with clear lead glaze over a salmon-colored ground. Provenance: From a long-term Maine collection. Two adjacent pieces reglued at rim, measuring a total of 2". A few other rim and base chips. Several small chips to one handle. A few small chips to opposite handle. H 9 3/4".
