One-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jar, attributed to G. & A. Black, Somerfield, PA, circa 1860, cylindrical jar with tooled shoulder and squared rim, decorated with a brushed cobalt leaf or "deer hoof" design around the shoulder. Provenance: From a thirty-five year Western PA collection. Hairlines in underside, forming a Y-shaped crack at base. Base chips. Small rim chips. 2" hairline from rim. H 10".
