Two Boston Stoneware Advertising Jugs, Northeastern U.S. origin, circa 1875, a half-gallon jug, impressed with the cobalt-highlighted advertising "JOHN CONLON, & CO / LIQUOR-DEALERS / 210 LiNCOLN St / Boston; paired with a two-gallon jug, impressed with the cobalt-highlighted advertising "JOHN SWEENY / 172 ELIOT ST / BOSTON." Provenance: Lynn White Collection, Readfield, ME. Conlon jug with base chip and stone ping to shoulder. Sweeny jug with light staining, two spout chips, and two base chips on reverse. H (of Conlon jug) 9 1/2".
