Three-Gallon Stoneware Advertising Jug with Cobalt Parrot Decoration, Stamped "P.H. CARPENTER & CO / SOUTHBRIDGE MASS.," attributed to F.B. Norton, Worcester, Mass., circa 1870, cylindrical jug with rounded spout, decorated with a large slip-trailed parrot with crest and heavily-shaded breast and wing, perched on a leaf. Provenance: Lynn White Collection, Readfield, ME. Contact mark at base touched up with blue paint. Blue paint over impressed mark. 1" flake off underside. Chips on interior of spout. H 15 1/2".
