Six-Gallon Stoneware Crock with Elaborate Cobalt Parrot Decoration, Stamped "F.B. NORTON & CO. / WORCHESTER, MASS.," circa 1870, cylindrical crock with rounded rim and applied lug handles, decorated with a large slip-trailed parrot with crest and heavily-shaped breast and wing, perched between two leaves accented with spots. Excellent decoration. Provenance: Lynn White Collection, Readfield, ME. Long horizontal separation line at base, which does not extend through to interior. Stone ping on front. H 12 3/4".
