Two-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Floral Decoration, Stamped "WHITES UTICA," New York State origin, circa 1860, cylindrical jar with tooled shoulder, tall collar, and applied lug handles, decorated with a large flower blossoming from a stem with curling leaves. Provenance: Lynn White Collection, Readfield, ME. Large Y-shaped crack on underside, extending onto base where it forms a jagged horizontal crack. 2 1/2" hairline from rim. 3 1/4" crack from rim on reverse, extending from a small chip. Chip to top of one handle. H 11".
