Two-Gallon Stoneware Cream Jar with Cobalt Bird Decoration, Stamped "W. ROBERTS / BINGHAMTON NY," circa 1870, ovoid jar with tooled shoulder, semi-rounded rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with a folky slip-trailed cobalt design of a large-headed bird with spotted body, perched on a stylized branch. Provenance: Lynn White Collection, Readfield, ME. 1 1/4" in-the-firing stone ping at base on reverse. Additional small stone ping on reverse. Some fry to cobalt. H 9 3/4".
