One-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Crock, attributed to J.M. HICKERSON, STRASBURG, VA, circa 1880, cylindrical crock with tooled shoulder and squared rim, decorated with a large cobalt floral design on the front and back. 3/4" shallow base chip, another small in-the-firing base chip, and other minor base nicks. 1" shallow rim chip and other minor rim nicks. Bubbling to cobalt. H 8 7/8".
