One-Gallon Stoneware Cake Crock with Floral Decoration, Stamped "COWDEN & WILCOX / HARRISBURG, PA," circa 1865, low-walled cylindrical crock with tooled shoulder, flattened rim, and applied lug handles, the front decorated with a tulip extending from a leafy stem. Provenance: Lynn White Collection, Readfield, ME. Several cracks, extending down from rim or upward from underside. Numerous rim chips. A few small chips to one handle and wear to edge of opposite handle. H 5 1/8" ; D 10".
