Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Batter Pail, Stamped "COWDEN & WILCOX / HARRISBURG, PA," circa 1865, ovoid form with pouring spout and wood-and-metal bail handle, the spout surrounded by two cobalt wreaths, the reverse with horizontal floral motif. Includes tin lid. 1 5/8" rim chip. Thin cracks in spout. Thin 3 1/2" crack from rim. Shallow chip to ear. Small stone ping to side of pail. Chips to handle at base. H (excluding lid) 8 1/2".
