Philadelphia Stoneware Advertising Jar, attributed to the Remmey Pottery, Philadelphia, PA, circa 1870, cylindrical jar with tooled shoulder and semi-squared rim, decorated with brushed cobalt flowers around the shoulder and a border of leaves surrounding the cobalt-highlighted advertising "MADE FOR / WANNER & KLINE / No. 228 NORTH 8TH ST. / PHILADELPHIA." X-shaped hairline on underside, with one line extending 5" up base from it. Two other short minor lines at base. H 9".
