Six-Gallon Stoneware Crock with Large Cobalt Bird Decoration, Stamped "NEW YORK / STONEWARE CO. / FORT EDWARD, N.Y.," circa 1870, cylindrical crock with semi-rounded rim and applied lug handles, decorated with a large slip-trailed cobalt design of a bird perched on a leaf. Includes brown-and-white lid, incised "6". 1 1/2" chip to interior of rim. A few chips on exterior of rim. Some small flakes to reverse. Flake to end of one handle. Lid with flaking to surface and losses to underside. H 13 3/4".
