Rare Pair of Standing Redware Dogs, American or European, 19th century, matched pair with curled tails, lop ears, and incised details to face, body, and paws. Figures decorated with brown and white glazes. Base with green, white, and brown glazes. Unglazed yellowish-orange clay on underside. One dog broken off of base and reglued. This damage includes breaks where the front legs meet the body as well. Other dog broken midway through legs and reglued. H 3 1/4" ; Length 3 5/8".
