Two-Gallon Stoneware Jar, Stenciled "C.F. HETZEL / & CO. / CUMBERLAND, MD.," Greensboro, PA origin, circa 1875, cylindrical jar with tooled shoulder and semi-rounded rim, decorated Hetzel advertising, a stenciled "2" with leaves, and thick freehand stripes. Very nice contrast with vibrant cobalt. Excellent condition. Rim chip on reverse. 1 5/8" glazed-over base chip. Some bubbling to cobalt stripes. H 11 1/2".
